Digital Product Manager

Highlights Library is the digital-first reading platform available in many countries around the world.  This Web and app based product enables supplemental reading for children learning and experiencing English as a second language. Launched in 2015, Highlights Library has grown substantially in school and consumer markets internationally. The international business at Highlights is a quick-growing and nimble team expanding the reach and brand promise of Highlights to children across the world.

 This role, new for Highlights, will be responsible for the Highlights Library product features and schedule. Working closely with our external development partner, the International leadership team, and key global customers, this role drives the product roadmap, implementation schedules and decisions, and coordinates global rollouts.

 This role must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, be meticulously organized and experienced with project management processes, and focus on creating great digital reading experiences in a sustainable and extendable manner to reach millions of children outside the US.

 This role will lead content and feature descriptions, wireframes, and priorities, manage localized and global feature priorities, and be comfortable speaking directly with schools, customers, and distributors as questions arise.  Based in our Columbus headquarters, this role is expected to travel domestically 3-5 times a year to key technology and education conferences and internationally 2-4 times a year.

Responsibilities:

• Establish product plan, timeline, and feature set for Highlights Library in the B2C and B2S markets in deep collaboration with International Leadership Team and global customers and our developer
• Work with the sales team and the Director, International to understand implementation timelines, requirements, and al[ha/beta milestones and then be responsible for successfully achieving those goals for timely customer launch
• Transition and own day-to-day developer management with our Korean based reading platform partner.
• Develop a deep and collaborative relationship with our Highlights Library sales team to understand implement timelines
• Establish documentation and training guidelines for internal use, distributor use, and end-user school and teacher materials to ensure adequate communication and training goals are met.
• Visit Development team in Korea at least twice annually and attend other key global customer events or tradeshows as appropriate.
• Incorporate Highlights global content, brand, privacy and technology standards to meet internal and legal requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in business, communications, marketing. Master’s Degree preferred.
• Six-ten years’ experience in business, with a a strong preference for digital product management experience
• Strategic thinker that can identify and recommend practical, actionable ideas designed to improve the business year over year.
• Analytical skills necessary to understand the impact of business decisions and create and successfully product specific budgets, dependencies and timelines
• Ability to embrace change, be open to new ideas and be innovative.
• Ability to be a collaborative strong team player and manage the activities of cross-functional teams to meet or exceed departments and company goals.
• Strong driver; self-starter.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Familiarity with project management skills and tools
• Ability to establish goals and prioritize.
