Consumer Insights Analyst

The Consumer Insights team delivers information about our customers and their experience with our products and services to support our Marketing, Editorial, and Operations teams.  We use a full range of marketing analytics techniques from database analysis and reporting to market research to predictive modeling.  We are searching for a eager analyst to join out team who has passion for understanding consumer behavior and has a natural curiosity to learn and grow with us.

                                                                                                                    

The Consumer Insights Analyst is responsible for contributing to the design of analytical plans and conducting database reporting, analysis, and research activities to support customer, product and market level information needs.  Successful candidates will have experience in some or all of the following areas of marketing analysis: reporting and dashboard design, descriptive analysis, segmentation, market research, predictive analytics or modeling, with a desire to grow and expand their skills.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to translate business questions into analysis plans to support business decisions, including purchase and payment likelihood, win-back programs, segmentation, customer retention and lifetime value
  • Become an expert in customer data across multiple product lines, segments and markets
  • Explore customer behavioral data to detect trends, make recommendations on contact strategy and targeting tactics, and integrate multiple sources of information into meaningful marketing insights
  • Create and maintain sales, marketing, and financial reports to keep current business and customer information at the fingertips of Highlights Consumer Business group users while ensuring quality and timeliness standards are met

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Economics, or Quantitative Social Sciences.  Master’s degree is preferred.  Strong, relevant work experience in a research or analysis role may be substituted.
  • Three or more years of business experience, preferably in a direct marketing, CRM or customer analytics department or organization
  • Knowledge and application of statistics, such as significance testing, CHAID, and regression techniques
  • Experience using SQL to extract data from relational databases strongly preferred; reporting and data visualization experience in Tableau is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with PowerPoint
  • Experience with R desired; SAS, SPSS or similar statistical software helpful
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning, teamwork and cooperation
