Sales Representative - Indiana

Sales Representative- Indiana

The Sales Representative is responsible for selling Zaner-Bloser programs to assigned territories within the PreK-2 education market.  The sales representative is required to meet sales goals and maintain an efficient budget for the territory.  The position necessitates building strong relationships with educators to ensure successful product selling, as well as, maintaining present customers and expanding sales with the established customer base.  Must periodically attend training/workshop sessions and sales meeting provided by the company.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop knowledge of Zaner-Bloser products and be able to match those products to the needs of the customer.
  • Make regular sales calls to district offices, schools and other agencies for Zaner-Bloser products.  This involves extensive travel, usually by car, within a designated territory determined by management.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding district and school contacts in InforCRM.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding sales opportunities in InforCRM.
  • Complete and forward all sales expense records to the company promptly.
  • Maintain a consistent sales record of goal achievement year to year as well as a per student penetration deemed acceptable to the company.
  • Grow the customer base.
  • Respond promptly to requests from the home office.
  • Attend training/workshop sessions as well as sales meetings as determined by management.
  • Attend state and local conferences as determined by sales rep and manager.
  • Attend National Conferences when assigned.
  • Oversee the servicing of customers
  • Manage and stay within the travel and expense, sample and per diem budgets assigned to sales representatives by management.

Qualifications:

  • Outside sales experience preferred.
  • Strong K-2 reading background preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or other related field preferred.
  • Teaching experience or experience within the education field preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude toward sales and educational institutions.
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of the selling process.
  • Possess understanding of language arts and reading curriculum.
  • Must understand the PreK-8th grade educational market.
  • Tremendous communications skills and strong relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects independently.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Position will cover entire state of Indiana.
