Sr. Professional Development Associate

Professional Development Associate

The Professional Development Associate supports all the operations with the department. Specific responsibilities include: administrative support, in-service training support, conference and presentation support and sales support.


Core Responsibilities:

PD Staff and Independent Contractor Administrative Support

  • order name badges, business cards and other necessities for new hires and replace items for continuing independent contractors
  • review and approve independent contractors’ expense reports
  • maintain IC calendar and Google calendar
  • use the Literacy Specialist Outlook calendar to create and maintain an at-a-glance implementation spreadsheet for distribution
  • process and submit orders for all sample requests for PD staff as well as customers
  • distribute agendas and act as recording secretary, preparing action minutes for team/staff meetings


In-service Training, Implementation and Coaching Support

  • secure coaches and literacy specialists for in-service/implementation trainings
  • maintain  in-service/implementation spreadsheet, distributing to pertinent field staff
  • coordinate  logistics and materials for orientation and training of coaches/literacy specialists
  • answer questions from coaches and literacy specialists regarding assignments
  • generate reports related to in-service/implementation trainings and coaching
  • maintain the coach portal
  • confirm coaching needs for consultants
  • receive inbound RFC’s, review them for completeness and distribute for assignment
  • proofread, copy, bind and ship implementation workshop handouts
  • confirm digital licenses have been provided prior to implementation trainings
  • track all PD (in CRM) delivered in addition to in-services and coaching


Conference and Presentation Support

  • track approved conferences with presentations and locate presentation proposal information online
  • maintain a list of presentation proposals submitted on SharePoint and enter updated information in CRM
  • secure conference presenters
  • coordinate logistics and materials for conference presentations and PD seminars
  • coordinate webinar systems (registration, link to CRM, host event, monitor and record webinar, track participants)

Sales Support  

  • enter campaign responses in CRM to track attendance of in-services and webinars


Other responsibilities

  • work closely with Sales Support, Sales, Customer Service, and Event Specialists to support the PD aspects of each department
  • participate in selected meetings, trainings, and national/regional conventions, which may require some travel
  • fulfilling additional projects and administrative tasks as needed for PD initiatives



  • Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CRM
  • Has solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Has exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
  • Is an effective problem-solver
  • Is self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and think creatively
  • Is able to work under pressure and with quick deadlines
  • Has excellent customer service skills with a professional, helpful demeanor both in oral and written communication
