HR Business Partner

The HRBP is a strategic HR leader who partners with the management and staff of the business line to help them achieve their business and organization objectives.  The HRBP will develop and implement HR and Talent Management plans in support of these objectives.  This individual will also have corporate-wide responsibility for an HR subject matter area such as talent management.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary HR leader and resource to the Business Unit(s); provide talent management/organization development solutions.   Collaborate with corporate HR staff or designated external HR service providers as appropriate.
  • Serve as a management team member providing appropriate HR resources, guidance, and support to further successful, productive performance within the Business Unit(s).
  • Will oversee new hire rotational programs, career management, leadership development and other talent management initiatives within business lines
  • Responsible for developing and implement change management strategies
  • Responsible for workforce planning, including current and future staffing planning
  • Responsible for certain aspects of internal employee communications, recognition programs, and employee engagement
  • In partnership with management, proactively identify performance development, promotion and/or training needs and strategize on appropriate solutions.
  • Provide employee relations guidance and coach managers on consistent, appropriate interpretation and application of company HR policies and procedures.  Coordinate involvement of corporate HR and Legal when appropriate.
  • Facilitate corporate HR procedures and programs, providing proactive guidance and training to managers and staff as needed to ensure appropriate compliance, reporting and/or follow through including performance reviews, position changes, exit interviews, safety, workers’ compensation, and leave of absence administration.
  • Collaborate with other HRBPs, colleagues and corporate HR staff to foster a spirit of teamwork, sharing professional knowledge and expertise and best practices.
  • Participate in special projects, including the design, implementation, and/or project management of HR initiatives as required

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of Human Resource Generalist experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or similar field
  • Demonstrated use of talent management, organization development, and change management tools. 
  • Must have experience with competency models and development action planning.
  • Ability to proactively identify and analyze organizational issues and propose and facilitate solutions
  • Experience in the development and/or delivery of training programs   
  • Exemplifies high standards of honesty, integrity, and discretion
  • Ability to relate, interface, negotiate and influence all levels of a corporation
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills    
  • Ability to effectively consult with and coach management in the application of HR practices and policies
  • Strong judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment law
  • Ability to effectively manage change, and multiple projects and priorities
  • Willingness/ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of an organization
