Market Research Manager

The Consumer Research & Analytics team delivers information about consumers and their experience with our products and services to support our Marketing, Editorial, and Operations teams.  We are a diverse team using a range of marketing analytics techniques from data analysis and reporting to market research.  We are searching for a Market Research Manager to join the team who has a passion for understanding the “why” behind consumer behavior.  This will be a hands-on role with high visibility in the organization as the lead researcher interacting with senior leadership across Highlights Consumer Business.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Highlights customer research community to provide quality, timely input to business decisions
  • Conduct consumer brand research to understand the impact of our product and marketing activities as well as our position in the marketplace relative to competitors
  • Manage qualitative and quantitative research to support new product development from concept to launch
  • Mine syndicated data sources to keep the activities and interests of parents and children top of mind within the organization
  • Monitor industry newsletters, whitepapers, and public research for relevant insights and trends
  • Partner with Marketing and Editorial to understand their needs, elevate the role of research, and propose solutions to address knowledge gaps

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on a quantitative business field or quantitative disciplines such as Market Research, Statistics, Economics, and Quantitative Social Sciences; Masters preferred 
  • Three to five years of relevant experience, preferably in a marketing, market research or customer analytics department or organization
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation development and delivery skills
  • Experience with Qualtrics and Qualtrics Target Audiences, preferred
  • Experience managing market research communities, a plus
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning, teamwork and cooperation.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
