Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the business by providing timely, relevant and accurate financial and operational data.  The position will provide financial analysis to track performance against projections and work with management to develop accurate budgets and forecasts.  Additionally, this position will investigate variances and data inconsistencies and is responsible for the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package.  This position will report directly to the Finance Manager.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Gather, review and consolidate financial data
  • Investigate and explain variances to plan/forecast
  • Assist in month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Assist in the development of budgets and on-going monitoring of performance
  • Generate, prepare and present detailed monthly financial data
  • Analyze business plans, forecasts, department expenses, headcount and develop accurate risk/opportunities projections
  • Identify and analyze cost driver trends and recommend improvement
  • Work closely with Sales managers to understand sales trends, data analysis, territory analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Financial analysis experience
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Technically savvy; able to learn new computer applications quickly
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Initiative, confidence and drive to achieve results
  • Capable of thinking analytically and creatively in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Access and other reporting tools
  • Professional demeanor; customer-service oriented
  • Ability to work independently
